Complete Protein Bread Grilled Cheese with a Crispy Twist!

Grilled cheese isn’t just a sandwich; it’s a canvas for flavor, and there are endless ways to jazz it up. From roast beef and french onions to creamy spinach-artichoke blends, the possibilities are deliciously endless. But let’s be real—sometimes, you just crave that golden, crispy, buttery classic that hits all the right notes. It’s that perfect, melty, gooey bite that makes your taste buds do a happy dance. Grilled Cheese Essentials:
- Unbun Complete Protein Bread- This bread is perfectly soft and won’t fall apart in the pan - not to mention that 2 slices contain 22g of complete protein.
- Butter - About ½ Tbsp per slice. Unsalted or salted - your choice! Make sure it’s room temperature before spreading.
- Mayonnaise - we recommend using a quality avocado mayonnaise but if you have another kind it will also do the trick. (Trust us when we say this little trick will make your grilled cheese perfectly crispy.)
- Cheese - To amp up the flavour, we blend slices of sharp or medium cheddar with creamy gouda, and/or rich Havarti cheese
How to Make Grill Cheese:
- Grate or Slice Your Cheese - grate cheese on the large holes of your grater or thinly slice
- Heat the Pan - warm the pan over low to medium heat. If using a griddle, heat at 275˚F.
- Spread On Butter & Mayonnaise - Spread ½ Tbsp on each side of bread. You want to spread it evenly from edge to edge. Then thinly spread mayonnaise over the butter.
- Assemble the Sandwich - Top one slice of Unbun Complete Protein bread with the grated or sliced cheese. Cover it with the other piece of bread, keeping the buttered sides on the outside.
- Brown the Bread - Cover the pan and cook on medium-low heat until the bottom is golden brown. Flip and cook uncovered until the other side is crispy and the cheese perfectly melted.
